2018 Toronto Film Festival

The Toronto Film Festival is a major international event for film industry members hoping to bring their passion to the big screen. We were tasked to connect DIRECTV with the festival in a way that honors the creative process and deliver a graphic treatment that would generate buzz at the festival. Our solution was a line that spoke to a key AT&T benefit, and encouraged self-expression: “Tell Your Story.” Then, we proposed collaborating with Instagram-famous muralist Ben Johnston whose name lent authenticity and credibility.

 

From the step-and- repeat to dinner menus to tote bags, DIRECTV’s brand presence was continuous and alive. But where it all took off was brand engagement, yielding 9.7 million social media impressions and over 960 million traditional media impressions in outlets including USA Today, HuffPo and Us Weekly—a $15.5M ad value. And with A-listers present, like Nicole Kidman, Dave Chappelle and Keira Knightley, the event set the bar for every other event at the festival.
